Pool Painting
Gold Coast

Faded, chalky, stained or peeling? We repaint concrete, marblesheen and fibreglass pools with LuxaPool two-pack epoxy, the toughest paint system made for Queensland pools. Full prep is always included, and you see your price online in 2 minutes.

Not All Pool Paint Is the Same

There are three main kinds of pool paint. Water-based acrylics are cheap and easy to apply but wear out quickly. Chlorinated rubber lasts a little longer. Two-pack epoxy, the only paint we use, cures to a hard, glossy shell that resists chlorine, salt and UV for years.

  • 2-coat LuxaPool epoxy: from $4,000, about 6 to 8 years
  • 3-coat LuxaPool epoxy: from $5,000, about 8 to 10 years
  • Made for concrete, marblesheen and fibreglass
  • Suits salt-water and chlorine pools
  • 25 LuxaPool colours, including designer shades

How We Paint Your Pool

The paint is only as good as the surface under it, so most of the job is preparation. This is where cheap pool painting jobs cut corners, and why they peel.

  • Drain the pool and pressure wash every surface
  • Acid wash concrete and marblesheen to open the surface
  • Sand glossy and old painted areas so the epoxy grips
  • Cut out and repair cracks and chips
  • Moisture test, then roll on 2 or 3 coats of epoxy
  • Cure, then refill with our water balancing advice

FAQs.

What Gold Coast pool owners ask us most about painting a pool.

How much does it cost to paint a pool on the Gold Coast?

Painting a small concrete or marblesheen pool with 2 coats of LuxaPool epoxy starts from $4,000, and 3 coats from $5,000. That includes draining, pressure and acid washing, sanding and crack repair. Larger pools, pebblecrete and pools with damage cost more. Our online quote form gives your exact price in about 2 minutes.

How long does pool paint last?

A properly prepared 2-coat LuxaPool epoxy finish lasts about 6 to 8 years, and a 3-coat system about 8 to 10 years. Water-based and rubber pool paints are cheaper but usually need repainting much sooner.

Is it better to paint or resurface a pool?

Painting with epoxy is a type of resurfacing, and it's the most affordable way to make a sound pool look new and protect it again. Pebble, quartz or tile finishes last longer but cost several times as much. If your shell is sound, epoxy painting is usually the best value.

Can you paint over the old paint in my pool?

Often, yes. We find out what's on the pool now, remove anything that's flaking or not compatible, then sand and acid wash so the new epoxy bonds. If the old coating has to come off, the extra prep is in your quote before we start.

What colour should I paint my pool?

Pool colours look very different once the pool is full. White and light colours turn bright aqua, mid blues look like the ocean and darker colours give a deep lagoon look. Try them on a real pool in our free colour visualiser before you choose.

Can I paint my pool myself?

You can, but a lot of early paint failures are DIY jobs where the prep was rushed or the surface was still damp. Epoxy is unforgiving: without acid washing, sanding, crack repair and a moisture test, it can blister or peel within a season or two.
