What Is Pool Resurfacing?
Pool resurfacing is the process of removing old, degraded paint and applying a professional protective coating. At Gold Coast Pool Resurfacing we use LuxaPool two-pack epoxy coatings β a durable, long-lasting finish specifically applied to concrete (including marblesheen variants) and fibreglass pool shells. Over time pool surfaces can peel, stain or crack; proper epoxy resurfacing restores waterproofing and appearance.
Resurfacing solves these problems in a single process: prep, repair and epoxy recoat. When done properly with epoxy, waterproofing is restored, appearance improved, and the life of your pool can be extended by many years.
At Gold Coast Pool Resurfacing, we specialise in LuxaPool two- pack epoxy β a high-performance coating proven in Queensland conditions for concrete and fibreglass pools.

Pool Painting & Epoxy Coating
Our core service is LuxaPool epoxy resurfacing β applied as a 2-coat or 3-coat epoxy system depending on your project and desired longevity. LuxaPool two-pack epoxy is formulated for concrete (including marblesheen) and fibreglass pools, giving superior adhesion and long-lasting protection compared with older rubber or water-based finishes.
- 2-coat Standard β 5β7 year lifespan, from $4,000
- 3-coat Premium β 8β10 year lifespan, from $5,000
- 25+ LuxaPool colours available
- Designer colour range available for premium finishes
- Gold Coast and Brisbane service area
We apply every coat by hand-roller for consistent coverage and cure each layer fully before proceeding. We do not rush the process β your finish lasts years longer because of it.

Pool Crack Repair
Cracks in your pool shell aren't just cosmetic β they allow water infiltration that accelerates structural degradation. Any crack that isn't properly repaired before resurfacing will show through the new finish within months.
We repair surface cracks, shrinkage cracks and chips using flexible waterproof compounds rated for pool use. Structural cracks (where the shell has moved) are assessed and treated appropriately before any coating is applied.
- Surface & shrinkage crack repair
- Chip and spalling repair
- Structural crack assessment
- Waterproof sealant compounds
- Included in all full resurface quotes

Surface Preparation
This is the step most pool painters skip β and it's why so many repaints fail early. Correct surface preparation is what separates a 2-year finish from a 10-year finish.
Our preparation process includes: draining the pool, high-pressure washing, phosphoric acid washing to neutralise alkalinity and open the surface profile, mechanical sanding of glossy areas, and full crack repair. Only once the surface is fully clean, dry and mechanically sound do we apply any coating.
- Drain and high-pressure wash
- Full acid wash (concrete & marblesheen)
- Mechanical sanding of shiny areas
- Crack and chip repair
- Moisture test before painting

What We Can Resurface
Concrete Pools (including Marblesheen)
The most common pool type on the Gold Coast. Concrete and marblesheen surfaces respond very well to LuxaPool two- pack epoxy when properly prepared β the epoxy bonds to the porous surface and produces a durable, long-lasting finish.
Fibreglass Pools
Fibreglass pools are fully supported by our epoxy systems when adhesion prep is correctly completed. We use a dedicated fibreglass primer and only apply epoxy coatings after correct surface preparation.
Other Materials
Other pool shell materials can sometimes be resurfaced, but our standard resurfacing method is epoxy paint applied to concrete (including marblesheen) and fibreglass.
